It seeks a creative engagement with contemporary political issues through an integration of theory and praxis. Therefore Open Circle organises annual workshops and symposia for artists from India as well as other (chiefly developing) nations. They address social and political issues in their local manifestations as well as in their global ramifications.
The Open Circle is an artist initiative formed in 1999 and based in Bombay.
